Berghawk Play Report: 16/09/2026 (A Greyhawk campaign set in Berghof)

11th of Planting (560) The Stone Smashers started the session at the entrance to the Croc Tail Kobold’s lair - a site of a historical battle between man and giant. The kobolds used the large pit traps as the foundation for their own lair. From the tower Right Hans could see one large open pit trap containing giant bones, and another outline of a similarly large pit trap which was now overgrown. He coordinated with the others to go down to the overgrown pit trap and mark it out so that the party didn’t accidentally step on it. In testing the overgrown pit trap though he found that it was solid enough to stand on. At this point some eagle-like birds began swooping at Hans - marking their territory. The party decided to proceed for now. Duskven used “charm animal” on one of the circling birds, and began to perform his ritual (which takes one hour) to recruit the bird to his side. He noted that it did not look like an ordinary eagle. It had much sharper talons and claws. The other three bi...

Berghawk Play Report: 09/09/2026 (A Greyhawk campaign set in Berghof)

A new adventurer who had been camped on the bridge last night, Duskven, joined us.   After recollecting Mads’ Braveheart impersonation of the night before, we concluded the gnolls knew we were on our way. We hid outside the town and watched to scout it out. Two bands of hyenas (6 & 3) approached us and we attacked and killed them with surprise. After a while it seemed like they were not coming out 200 corpses left in the street. Elderly man’s head on a spear in the middle of the town. Around 15 dead gnolls, and some dead hyenas.   Barking coming from inside one of the brick buildings – sounds like a hyena. Found an injured gnoll with a hyena protecting him. Mads cured it and it told us Sarkasa was in the hills to the south. Also told us that an Ogrillion with the Gauntlet was behind the raising of the Evil forces, including Fire Giants. Returned to the bridge with the guardsmen, and told them of what we had learned. The Guards told us that in...

Berghawk Play Report: Growfest and beyond

Because I'm once again behind I don't actually remember the irl date we played. But I know it was Growfest! This one is from memory so sorry to the players if I forget anything.  *Growfest*   Growfest was in full swing. The party witnessed a local agricultural festival. Locals dressed as the various revered gods of the area (a mix of Flaan and Suel) Beory, Berei, Bralm and Allitur. Berei and Bralm are worshipped in equal measure as goddesses of the harvest. They are said to often quarrel and then make up and dance, like siblings. So the women playing the roles reenacted this as part of the carnival - alternating between mock fighting and then dancing arm in arm. This is the social memory of the fact that Bralm is a Seuo goddess while Berei is Flaan.  On St Cuthbert day, Chiswell pay respect to the god of common sense even though he is not widely revered in the region (something the Paladin Hans the Just is trying to change). To represent this, the local who was...
